and a first call percussionist.  He writes and performs original music, on both guitar and percussion, with many Bay Area bands.  He is a master of many genres of music reflected by the diversity of the groups he plays with including The Jorge Santana Band, Latin Funk band Mas Cabeza, Latin Jazz group CALIENTE 2000 and World Music group, Volcan.

Jacobo plays music in many styles but with a special emphasis in Afro-Cuban drum-set, Afro-Brazilian drum-set, Latin Jazz and Straight Ahead Jazz. Jacobo can "sit in" with any group easily mastering original charts. Jacobo is guaranteed to deliver a highly professional and swinging percussion section.

Education: 

Degree in Music University of Costa Rica.  Jacobo has also studied with Stewart Mars and received private instruction with both Antoni Saroni and Pete Magadini.

Employment:    

Music instructor from beginner to master level at the San Francisco Community Music Center of both percussion and guitar since 1995.  The San Francisco Community Music Center was winner of the SF Bay Guardian’s "Best of the Bay" 2008 user poll as "Best Music School" in the Bay Area.
